About the role

The purpose of this role is to support all data governance and protection (security & privacy) activities at GMG. The position will focus on ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs.

Accountabilities

Track roadmap against achievements, and highlight any project delays to DG Manager

Maintain a detailed assessment of GMG’s core systems and information assets that are held in these systems, as well as the teams and processes that use them.

Increase GMG data literacy, through education programs focusing on data governance, master data management, roles & responsibilities, and data glossary

Work with MDM team to develop and maintain data governance SOPs, work instructions and standards

Monitor and ensure compliance of data policies in GMG. Escalate any issues to DG Manager

Continually assess data risks at GMG and publish any non-compliance issues.

Provide support during internal and external data audits

Qualification

University Degree (IT) + Relevant Certification (DAMA CDMP, ISO, Dataversity)

3 to 5 years working in data management and/or data governance role

Experience & Skills

Basic understanding of data privacy and security regulations

Working knowledge of SAP and data governance tools (Informatica, OneTrust)

Strong presentation skills
