Finance Director – Controlling
Key Responsibilities
- Treasury: Management of cash flow for the region. Ability to lead discussion with banks to enhance credit lines as per cashflow forecast while ensure utilization of existing credit lines
- Financial Accounting: Delivery of timely and accurate monthly accounts for all companies in region with commentary highlighting significant issues impacting performance. Should be able to define and improve month end close processes with the team
- Business Processes: ensure that all business processes and procedures are regularly reviewed and optimal for the changing demands of the business.
- Credit management: review, reporting and appropriate action of debtor and unbilled revenue balances.
- Budgets & Costs: managing the annual budget and forecasting process for the region.
- Finance Function: Ensure the regional finance team are appropriately resourced and possess the skills required to support the demands of the business.
- Annual External Audit: Take full responsibility for managing the external audit process in the region.
- Tax: Ensure all tax returns and compliance is up to date for all entities within the region. Must have exposure to transfer pricing.
People Management
- Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensures effective implementation of the GMG’s performance management process.
- Develops talent within the team by providing guidance, mentoring, and coaching to achieve the defined goals.
Drives a culture of feedback and coaching in the Business Unit by providing feedback on an ongoing basis, identifying development needs, and coaching the employees on the areas of improvement.
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy or ACCA/CIMA/CPA and have at least 10-12 years of relevant working experience, preferably in retail/FMCG industry
- Proficient in Finance & Accounting software, e.g., SAP
- Experience working across multiple levels (including Senior Managerial level) and across function Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national, matrix organization
- Good understanding of and/ experience in retail operations
- Experience of operating in an international environment and managing remote teams. A 'hands-on' approach is essential with experience of leading a finance function
- A proven track record in managing numerous projects at the same time Flexibility for travel across the MENA / ASIA Region
