About the role:
The Assistant Category Manager (Marketplace) will be responsible for managing brand accounts across e-commerce marketplaces, with a focus on driving sales, analyzing performance metrics, and implementing strategies to improve business outcomes and online visibility.
Reporting to the Director - ECommerce, you will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Target Management
- Achieve sales and Gross Product Value (GPV) targets for each brand across marketplaces and countries
- Monitor sales performance regularly and implement strategies to drive growth
Pricing and Promotion Execution
- Plan and execute pricing strategies and promotional activities during both business-as-usual (BAU) periods and major campaigns
- Collaborate with internal teams and marketplaces to optimize promotional effectiveness
Inventory Management
- Ensure accurate stock planning and availability across all marketplaces to meet sales targets
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to prevent stockouts or overstock situations
Performance Reporting and Analysis
- Generate and analyze performance reports to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities
- Develop actionable insights to enhance sales and marketplace effectiveness
Store and Brand Representation
- Maintain brand consistency and visibility across marketplace storefronts
- Ensure strategic product placement and accurate listing of key products
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Retail, or related fields
- 5–8 years of experience in e-commerce marketplace operations, preferably with platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, or enablers like ADA, GTech, etc.
- Hands-on experience with marketplace platforms and Seller Centre tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentation purposes
- Knowledge of SAP and Vinculum systems is a strong advantage
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken and Mandarin, will be an added advantage
