Role Summary:
We are seeking a Project Manager to join the Transformation Team, responsible for leading high-impact initiatives and driving the excellence across Retail domains. The role requires a strong business-facing leader who can identify business problems, define transformation opportunities, and ensure disciplined execution through mature PMO practices. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, operational excellence, and delivery leadership, acting as a trusted partner to business leaders while institutionalizing best practices, standards, and continuous improvement through the CoE.
Responsibilities:
Business Relationship Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across business functions operations, buying, planning, etc.)
- Build strong partnerships to understand priorities, challenges, and performance gap
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and transformation initiatives
Business Problem Analysis & Transformation
- Identify operational inefficiencies and scalability gaps through structured analysis
- Translate business problems into outcome-driven transformation initiatives
- Drive solution design with business, technology, and operations teams
Project & Program Management (PMO Leadership)
- Lead end-to-end delivery of transformation projects with control over scope, timelines, budget, and quality
- Establish PMO governance, standards, and reporting
- Manage risks, dependencies, and benefits realization; provide clear leadership updates
Operations Excellence & Process Improvement
- Drive operational excellence across retail, planning, and buying
- Identify and implement opportunities for simplification, standardization, and automation
- Embed scalable best practices, SOPs, and performance metrics into operations
Center of Excellence (CoE) Enablement
- Build and operate the Transformation CoE, including governance and operating model
- Define standards, methodologies, and best practices for delivery and improvement
- Enable teams through coaching and act as custodian of transformation capabilities
People Management :
The incumbent holds no direct supervisory responsibilities but is expected to engage effectively within their function and collaboratively across cross-functional teams. This role contributes meaningfully, whether through operational contributions and/or by offering specialized expertise, guidance, and support, to ensure alignment with either functional and/or strategic organizational goals and objectives.
Functional / Technical Competencies:
- Proven experience in leading transformation programs with rigorous PMO practices
- Deep understanding of retail operations, planning, and buying processes
- Strong expertise in operating in both Waterfall and hybrid / Agile delivery models, based on scope clarity and program maturity
- Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence for agile project management and documentation
- Strong financial acumen, including creating business case, budget management and business case tracking
- Clear, confident communication with executives and delivery teams alike
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities to manage blockers and team dynamics effectively.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects and priorities.
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in Project / Program Management
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-wide initiatives in retail or consumer-facing organizations
- Experience working with global stakeholders, system integrators, and third-party vendors
